Scacco Matto Portable Lamp

Francesco Cappuccio

Lighting Products and Fixtures Design Scacco Matto Portable Lamp by Francesco Cappuccio Scacco Matto draws inspiration from the 1960s radical design movement and invites audiences to explore and interact with shapes and light. Featuring three magnetically connected elements, the portable lamp can be transformed in five different light sculptures, to inspire a new interest in the role light plays in transforming the look, feel, and atmosphere of homes. It can be used as a vase, sculpture or to focus light on a particular area. The five possible combinations are reminiscent of chess, hence the name Scacco Matto, the Italian translation of checkmate.
